MUSIK PROGRAM

  • Omar Souleyman, who has collaborated with Björk and Four Tet, began his career as a prolific wedding singer, releasing nearly 500 live albums before civil war broke out in his native Syria in 2011.

In 2013 released his debut studio album Wenu Wenu viA Ribbon/Domino, which NPR called, "...a jam so visceral, thrilling and intense as to make the mysterious matter of earthly borders seem hardly worth the time to contemplate."

His 2015 sophomore album Bahdeni Nami garnered widespread critical praise including The Guardian, who proclaimed, "It's so fast that the only appropriate way to engage with it is to wriggle your limbs.

  • With a musical style heavily aligned with UK garage, jungle and 4×4, you’d be forgiven for assuming Main Phase hailed from the UK. In fact, the Danish producer has a long and rich musical history that weaves through many genres of dance music, including house, trance and techno.

In the last few years however, he has honed his style in the UK garage domain and led the way in bringing these legendary sounds to dance floors across Denmark; as a result he’s become known as one of the most prominent garage DJs in his native country.

His contribution to the genre – both as a DJ and producer – has also earned him gigs all across Europe, playing at iconic venues such as fabric, Hidden, World Headquarters and more, as well as festivals such as BassFest, Oulu Music Festival and O Days Festival.

  • Azi goes by the name KUCHULU when they DJ & produce. They create sceneries where different styles bend and attach to each other at the same time as they dislocate.

They co-created FRAGMENT, which is housed at Kapelvej 44 in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The project centers emerging and established BIPoC artists, and an experimenting approach to radio and events.

They run a DJ initiative with the same focus where they teach and curate knowledge sharing opportunities, and co-run the event platform Bukhar with Ms. Aytara and Muskila.

  • Muskila, an electronic music producer and DJ based in Copenhagen, has gained recognition for his distinctive production approach, characterized by a unique blend of rhythmic elements and percussions.

His inquisitive style encompasses high-energy rhythms that draw inspiration from around the globe, such as UK Bass, Reggaeton, Dabke, and music from his Kurdish background.

Notably, Muskila's talent has garnered attention from the innovative UK label, InfaRed, resulting in the release of his single "Bateekh." This achievement propelled him into the international spotlight and led to features in renowned magazines such as Nowness, DJMag, and Mixmag. Bateekh follows a prolific run of EPs in 2022 with the EP, QAAR, that blend propulsive club beats with darbuka percussions. ‘QAAR A’ peppers its driving, four-to-the-floor techno beat with finger cymbals and darbuka drumming.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Muskila is actively involved in promoting inclusivity within the club and arts scene, co-founding the club night, Bukhar, and contributing to Fragment Radio, a platform dedicated to amplifying BIPOC voices.

  • Malika Mahmoud's music selection is characterized by an ever expanding curiosity. Her selection is driven by melodic sounds and vocals sometimes disguised in cheeky club remixes. She challenges the idea of singularity by jumping in tempo and genre often mixing dancehall, hard drum, amapiano, neo perreo and techno all together as an expression of her ambiguity of having roots in Zanzibar, Columbia, Oman and Denmark.

  • DJ Paydar is a CPH-based persian producer, DJ and performer - and mixes south east asian culture with dance music. It's energetic and groovy, with a good flow between the different genres.
